Ross Collier B.Bus (Acc)., MBA., CPA., Tax Agent

Ross is a qualified accountant and has a Master of Business Administration. His practical experience in business management was gained in both large and small business including manufacturing, retail and service industries. He provides business and taxation advice to a wide range of clients.

His specialist areas include business advisory work for existing and new businesses including structures, budgets, cash flows and planning. He particularly enjoys working closely with the owners of growing businesses to devise innovative solutions that add value long term.

He is able to advise in all areas of taxation and is a registered ASIC SMSF Auditor.

Ross lives locally on a small property where he breeds poll herefords.

Tim O’Brien CPA., Tax Agent

Tim is a qualified accountant who has been involved in the accountancy industry for many years. He has developed a client base, that he has successfully advised and consulted, to enable them to achieve their business and individual financial goals.

Tim advises clients in relation to all taxation matters, estate planning, development of budgets, cash flow presentations and business plans, and assists with finance applications. He has a special interest in equine related industries. Tim has acted as a business consultant and accountant to community based organisations, sporting clubs and local government related organisations.

 Caroline Johnston B.Bus (Acc)., CPA., Tax Agent

Since becoming a Director in 2004 I have faced many business challenges all that most small business owners also face. I can relate well to Small Business Owners and assist them from the start of their business journey in choosing the appropriate structure right through to monitoring and setting goals for growth and expansion.

Being involved in Public Practice has provided many skills in general areas of taxation, information technology, choosing appropriate business structures, capital gains, corporate secretarial functions and many other general areas.

I am passionate about keeping up to date with technology, using technology to streamline and systemise the practice here and with the introduction of cloud technologies appearing in the market I am excited about the opportunities these bring to small businesses owners also.

I enjoy running and cooking!.

Alistair Collier
BBus (Acc)

Alistair started with Riverwood Group in early 2008 after completing a Masters in Accounting at Swinburne University. Within Riverwood Group he is involved in the areas of tax and Self Managed Superannuation.

In his personal time Alistair enjoys gardening, watching cricket and playing tennis.

Anita Mitchell
B.Com (Acc) CPA

Anita joined Riverwood Group in 2010 and as well as being our FBT specialist now manages a small team of Accountants in the Woodend office . Anita’s experience includes 3 years at a medium sized practice in Auckland; KPMG in Melbourne specialising in indirect tax (specifically GST) ; 4 years with ANZ Melbourne in the Group Taxation Area (specialising in FBT). Anita completed her CPA in 2007 and her degree with Lincoln University in NZ in 1997.

Anita’s specialist areas of Business are Financials, Tax and FBT.

Anita lives locally with her partner Phil and 2 children and keeps busy with family life, kids activities and running.

Barbara King
B.Ec (Acc) C.A

Barbara joined Riverwood Group in 2008, after moving to Woodend from Melbourne in 2007. Barbara has over 25 years experience in accounting, business services and tax. About half that time was spent working in chartered accounting firms in Melbourne CBD and the other half in corporate environments including 3 years working as a Business Analyst.

Barbara’s previous role of 7 years was Financial Accountant for a large food manufacturing company.

Barbara enjoys gardening and has spent the last couple of years designing and creating her garden.


Rosemary Phillips
BAS Agents Licence; Cert IV in Financial Services (Accounting) and Cert IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping)

Prior to joining Riverwood Group in May 2002, Rosemary had worked in several Melbourne based accounting firms and within the freighting industry. Rosemary has a passion for her work, strives for excellence and enjoys the close relationship she has formed with her clients. Rosemary manages a small team of Accountants in the Kilmore office, has a broad accounting knowledge and together with her co-workers, ensures the Kilmore office is able to service all of your client needs.

Outside of work Rosemary devotes her time to her four children, husband, dogs, horses and ferrets. Through necessity she has become skilled in cricket scoring and is involved in her local pony club canteen.



Administration Team
Keryn Kirkpatrick – Administration / Accounts

Keryn has been part of the Accounts and Admin team at Riverwood Group since 2010. Prior to joining us Keryn spent 15 years working for an International photographic company in a number of administrative roles. Keryn works part-time assisting across all areas of adminstration and accounts.

Originally from SA Keryn now lives in Gisborne with her husband and 4 children and really enjoys living in the Macedon Ranges as she feels it provides a wonderful community feeling for all that live and work here.

Sharon Banner – Client Services

Sharon has been part of the Administration team at Riverwood Group since May 2019. Sharon works part-time focusing on Customer Services helping out in all areas of administration and document management. Sharon has 30 years experience in customer service, sales and marketing as well as having run her own small business. Sharon has lived in the Macedon Ranges for the past 11 years (so not a local yet!) on a hobby farm in Woodend. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her children on the farm, horse riding and attending horse competitions.

Alexandra Leach – Client Services

Alex joined the Riverwood Group in July 2020, she has over 15 years of experience working in various Administrative and Finance roles in the not-for profit and higher education sector.

Born in Central America and raised in Florida, she made the move to the Macedon Ranges in 2015 to join her husband. Alex enjoys running and discover all that the local area has to offer.

Lynne Jenkins – Bookkeeper

Lynne started with the Riverwood Group in September 2020 having worked in country Public Taxation/Accounting Practices for some 40 years with a small stint in the Northern Suburbs.

To this day I am still very passionate in dealing with clients and all aspects of accounting in general, as I witnessed a lot of changes over the last 40 years ie manual to computerized accounting.

Finally all my sons have left home, so I’m now enjoying High Country camping, Fishing, Gold panning and gardening again.

Kerry Andrews – Bookkeeper
Diploma of Business, Certificate IV Bookkeeping

Kerry joined Riverwood Group in 2021, with extensive administration experience in the retail, hospitality, and real estate sectors, as well as the plumbing, electrical, and building trades. She is driven by attention to detail, customer service excellence, and likes getting to know the people behind the figures.

Kerry and her young family love country life in the Macedon Ranges, and in her spare time she enjoys netball, reading, and playing piano.

Suzanne Brooks – Bookkeeper
Certificate IV in Bookkeeping, Xero Certified

Suzanne has worked in Finance for over 20 years.

Suzanne started working with RWG in November 2019 as a Bookkeeper

She has worked in a variety of industries which has expanded her knowledge in bookkeeping and accounting skills.

Suzanne was born in Gisborne and remains living in the Macedon Ranges with her 4 children and Husband.

She loves to play tennis and spending time with friends and family.
